Wallets

One of the first things that you have to do when you start out with crypto tokens is deciding on a wallet. The first wallet I had was Trust Wallet. It's a pretty good wallet overall in my opinion. It is pretty useful for a beginner. It's easy to use. It recognizes tokens most of the time. It seems to be catered towards Binance Smart Chain tokens. But it does recognize Ethereum tokens and Bitcoin. The other wallet I used in the beginning was Metamask. I wouldn't recommend Metamask to a beginner. It is a bit more difficult to add tokens. It does not recognize Bitcoin. However it is a top choice to connect to most DEFI exchanges. Once you have some experience under your belt dealing with wallets you should consider getting a hardware wallet. A hard concept for me to grasp at first was understanding that your tokens are not really in your wallet. A wallet is simply a way to see what tokens you have and be able to interact with your tokens on exchanges and make transfers to other wallets or people. Your tokens exist on the ledger block chain.

Below is an excellent Twitter thread on wallet security. There have been some high profile thefts lately.
